Printer profiles allow automatic color compensation for differences in printers and media configurations as well as the effects of resolution and dot pattern on an output. Although you can print a job using no profiles at all, using ICCICC (International Color Consortium) A group of hardware and software companies dedicated to the development of a specification that is operating system independent and provides the digital imaging, printing and related industries with a data format for defining the color and reproduction characteristics of devices and their related media Profiles produces greater color fidelity.

Select the Media Profile:

1. Select the [Printer and Media] tab.
2. Select the [Printer], [Media Group], [Media Name], and [Print ModeA Print Mode is an individual characterization of Ink, Media and Printer Settings. Print Modes can have any number of variables, intended for different output targets. Some examples of multiple print modes for the same media are: High Speed, Production, High Quality, and Ink Saving Modes. Print modes allow for multiple output conditions on the same material.] that fits the media substrate you are printing on.

Select Color Management Preset:

1. Select the [Printer and Media] tab.

To change a profile:

1. In the [Color Management] area, click [Change Profile…] button (Figure 2).
2. Select the input profiles, output profiles, and rendering intents you want to use.
3. Set options you want to use, and click [OK].
